Year 2004

Apart from the donations to local organizations, Siemens Hong Kong has also made donations to other parts of the world to extend the spirit of Corporate Citizenship beyond the territory. In January 2004, an annual cash donation and t-shirts were given to colleagues to support their participation in Trailwalker Campaign through which the disadvantaged people living in Africa and Asia will be benefited from the activities of Oxfam Hong Kong.

In January, we donated a number of tickets to let many seniors view a Chinese Opera at the Sunbeam Theatre in North Point.

In February, we have donated some mobile phones to support the Charity Walk of Children Education Fund to provide support to needy children in Mainland China.

In June, we donated HK$5,000 to support the 1st Golf Tournament organized by St. James' Settlement that aimed at raising fund for the operation of their Food Bank. The Food Bank provides fresh and canned food to those in need.

In August, a team of 5 colleagues representing Siemens has joined the Team Challenge event organized by the Boys' and Girls' Club Association. In 36 hours, the team has taken part in a number of physical and psychological challenges: trail walking, pool diving, canoeing, orienteering, abseiling, and river journey. The company has sponsored the team to join the event.

In September, Siemens participated in "Hong Chi Climbathon - Reach for the Sky" which was held at Central Plaza in Wanchai. 2 relay teams representing Siemens joined the activity to walk up the stairs to the 75th floor of the building. Apart from the HK$74,940 donation from Siemens, the relay teams also raised a total of HK$22,560 to support the activity for Hong Chi Association's work for mentally handicapped people. We were so glad that Siemens was awarded the “Top Fundraising Team” among the 28 relay teams participating in the activity.
