Year
2005
In response to the disastrous tsunami in South Asia
on 26 December, Siemens donated funds on top of colleagues’
donation to the four charitable organizations including Hong
Kong Red Cross, World Vision Hong Kong, Unicef and Oxfam.
Apart from donations from Hong Kong, the company also
provided local disaster relief. Siemens in India, Sri Lanka,
Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia provided financial and
technical assistance to the devastated regions directly.

In February, Siemens
colleagues extended their love and care to the needy on
the Valentine’s Day. Many colleagues purchased chocolate
flowers to support a fund raising campaign organized by
St. James’ Settlement for their social welfare services
for the mentally retarded. In the same month, Siemens
colleagues also participated in Walk for Charity 2005
organized St. James Settlements to raise fund for
supporting their social services for the needy in Hong
Kong. Following the donation last year, we continued our
support to St. James’ cup Charity Golf Tournament to
raise fund for their People’s Food Bank. Apart from
this, we also supported the People’s Food Bank via a
HK$5,500 donation to the “Operation Santa Claus”
Campaign organized by SCMP. |
To support the Caring Company’s Patron’s Club in leading
the caring movement, Siemens donated HK$88,000 to support
the Caring Company Scheme of Hong Kong Council of Social
Service to raise the awareness of Corporate Social
Responsibility and its significance towards the sustainable
development in Hong Kong.
