With
the great support from our Management, we have successfully
organized “Siemens Volunteer Programme @ Work”
in cooperation with St. James’ Settlement. Many
colleagues participated in the programme on 4 working
day afternoons.
On Dec 8-9 afternoons, 50 colleagues joined our first
mission “Winter Caring” to deliver warmth-keeping
clothes to the elderly people in need. The clothes
were delivered to them at the right time because of
the cold weather at the time.
Some of the elderly people
even put on the clothes immediately and did not want
to take them off afterwards. All volunteers felt very
honoured to have joined the service to deliver care
and love to them and had a chance to talk with them.
Our second
mission “Wall Painting” took place on Dec
20-21 afternoons. Around 40 colleagues joined to do
wall painting at St. James’ Child Care Centre.
It involved a lot of tedious work like sanding and polishing
the old rust, removing the pooled-off paints and applying
new paints on the fencing, railings and doors at the
five-storey building. After the two-day hard work, the
newly-painted Child Care Centre looked stunning again.
Colleagues all felt very happy to have the
chance to serve the people in need on working days.
