Year
2006 Siemens Summer Program for School Children
For the second year, Siemens Volunteer Team
has organized a summer program combining fun and learning
for primary school children. This year, we have partnered
with St. James' Settlement to serve some 50 children who
were also the beneficiaries of their "Grant-in-aid
Brightens Children's Lives" Charity Project. Around
60 volunteers have participated in the summer program consisted
of a series of activities on 3 Saturdays in July and August.
"Siemens
Getting to Know You" on July 22
Combining teamwork and individual contest, "Siemens
Getting to Know You" was a warm-up for the children
to "play hard and cheer loud" as well as an
ice-breaker for them to team up with all other children
and our volunteers.
"Siemens
Art Center" on July 29
The school children had the chance to meet famous painters
like Pablo Picasso and Vincent van Gogh in "Siemens
Art Center". The 2-hour creative workshop aimed
to inspire the young painters to a new horizon in the
world of arts.
"Siemens
Science Museum Visit" on August 12
Being one of the world's largest innovative companies,
Siemens is committed to advancing young people's knowledge
and education. "Siemens Science Museum Visit"
was one of the perfect examples of what we want to do
- to expose children to the field of science and technology
from an early age.
