Founded in
Germany in 1847, Siemens is a modern and innovative success-driven
electronics conglomerate which plays a leading role in the business
areas of Communications, Power, Automation and Control, Medical,
Building Technologies, Transportation Systems, Lighting and
Financial Services by providing a comprehensive range of products
and systems as well as solutions and services in these fields.
Siemens has its presence in over 190 countries with a total
workforce of 461,000 employees. Siemens' close ties with the
region dates back to 1872, when the first Siemens needle telegraphs
were installed.
Siemens Ltd. was incorporated in Hong Kong in 1987 and currently
employs more than 400 staff working in the sales, marketing
and engineering areas in Hong Kong and Macau as well as infrastructure
projects of Hong Kong investors in other Asian countries.
To better serve the expanding business needs in Macau, Siemens
Macau Office was opened in May 2005 to extend a closer touch
with customers there. Siemens embraces corporate responsibility
to help the needy and contribute to the local communities. We
advance education by offering support and sponsorship. One example
is the Memorandum of Understanding with the Macau University
of Science and Technology to enhance cooperation and sharing
in technology and academic areas. Siemens will continue our
contribution to the development of Macau by bringing in our
latest innovations in different areas.
